I stumbled on some killer pics of a Model S/X with blacked-out interior trim - dash, vents, the whole shebang! Looks incredible, but RPM says they didn't do it and can't point me towards replicating it myself. Plasti-dip seems too messy for those tight spaces by the MCU, and I don't wanna lose my buttons.

Anyone knows how this blackout is done? Maybe a special vinyl wrap? Super curious if it's a DIY project or a dealership secret.

I discovered a really budget-friendly way to black out all my car's trim without resorting to plasti dip. I picked up the chrome delete kit from Nikola Pro. It's made with satin black 3M vinyl, and they even include enough material to do the entire chrome delete twice – so no worries if I make a mistake

My son recently did a complete chrome on his car using a 3M vinyl wrap kit. The kit came with enough vinyl to do two cars, a heat gun, chrome cleaner, and a plastic tool to smooth out any air bubbles.

Before you start, it is highly recommended watching some YouTube videos on vinyl wrapping. There are tons of tutorials out there. My son also found the videos specific to the 3M product he bought very helpful.

The most important thing to remember is patience. This is not a quick project and will take several hours to complete.
