So I've had this used 2014 Model S for about 2 mos now and I'm itching to mod it. First up, I want to add a roof rack. Been checking out the Tesla site and apparently, the car needs some tweaks to handle the rack. Tesla says they don't offer this mod, which is a bummer! Any of you know what tweaks it needs and why Tesla's dodging this? Curious about it. Starting to think aftermarket options might be the way to go instead.

Not sure about the details of the mounting, but it will surely hurt your car's range, just take note.

Hey, do you have any updates on this? I would appreciate it!

Congrats on the Model S! Tesla doesn’t offer a roof rack because the car wasn’t designed for one, and adding it might need roof rails or some modifications, like drilling, which can be risky and affect the warranty. If you still want one, aftermarket options are your best bet. Just make sure it’s a trusted brand that fits the Model S. Also, check the weight limit for the roof to avoid overloading! If you've already installed one, please share your experience. Appreciate it!

Any updates on the roof rack? I’d love to hear how it went.
