P85D supercharging

My Tesla Model S P85D's supercharging speed has been giving me strange problems lately. When I first visited a supercharger with a loaner, I noticed some amazing charge rates, such as 80kW+. However, the rate fell to a dismal 20kW after a quick interstate drive and a return to the same charger. Has anyone else encountered this type of variation? Is it a problem with the battery's temperature or something else? Do you know how to maximize charging speed?

If you want to see peak rates, have the battery below 50%. The battery accepts the "peak rates" once it is a little warmed up.

I've had the same problem. That charger's messed up. It's charging super slow, even though it's not winter.
